Living in Italy

Living here this past week has shown me a lot of things. For one, everything is closed on the weekends! Okay, not everything, but I’d say that 80-85% of the shops and restaurants are closed on either Saturday or Sunday, if not both. As I was strolling around the neighborhoods today I realized it is because the Italians seem to have a very different perception of life than Americans. Italian culture is all about enjoying your life and the time you have to be with people you want to be with. Their appreciation for simpler things is something we often overlook at home. I hope I can take in a little of that when I return home. I still want to make money though, so we’ll see how much I really take in.

On another note, this will be my outlet to post pictures for now. Uploading lots of pictures onto the book of faces is just too tedious on our not very speedy internet.
